The Hicks Homestead is a privately operated smart-home environment used to connect and manage the owner's Home Assistant system and approved third-party integrations. It is not offered as a public commercial service.

Information we process

When an authorized user connects through Google or another supported integration, authentication information and device-related data may be exchanged as necessary to provide the requested smart-home functionality. This can include account identifiers, OAuth authorization tokens, device names, device states, and commands initiated by the authorized user.

How information is used

Information is used only to authenticate authorized users, operate smart-home features, communicate with connected services, and maintain the security and reliability of the household automation environment.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. Information may be transmitted to service providers involved in delivering the requested functionality, such as Google, Home Assistant, Nabu Casa, or Cloudflare, subject to those providers' own terms and privacy practices.

Data retention and security

Authentication credentials and integration data are retained only as needed for the connected services to function. Reasonable technical measures are used to restrict access to authorized household users.

Your choices

Authorized users may revoke Google account access through their Google Account security settings and may remove integrations from Home Assistant at any time.
